Intesa to serve as consultant in privatization of Russia’s Rosneft
BRATISLAVA, May 24 (PRIME) -- Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo will serve as an investment consultant to privatize a 19.5% stake in Russian oil major Rosneft, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev told reporters on Tuesday.
“We and Rosneft have chosen an investment advisor – it is Italian bank Intesa, the parent bank,” he said.
“We have defined a position for Rosneftegaz,” Ulyukayev also said when asked whether parameters of the privatization were sent to the bank.
The government holds 69.5% in Rosneft through Rosneftegaz.
Ulyukayev expects that Russian banks will also take part in the privatization.
